Laurel Phillip is excited to join the staff at

Willard Middle School!

​

Previously, Mrs. Phillip taught at Seneca Ridge Middle School in Sterling and Rachel Carson Middle School in Fairfax County. Laurel Phillip is a member of the National Band Association, NAfME, VMEA and is the Registration Coordinator for the Virginia Music Educator’s Conference. She is a nationally recognized Suzuki Flute teacher through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. During her summers she spends time teaching at various band camps throughout Loudoun and Fairfax.

 

Mrs. Phillip graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Flute Performance. She earned her Master’s degree in Education from George Mason University.

 

Mrs. Phillip enjoys spending time with her husband, Mr. Phillip, and daughter, Hannah. She also enjoys helping Mr. Phillip with the Lightridge Marching Band in the late summer and fall months.

Mr. Miles is thrilled to be a charter member of the

Willard Music Department!

​

He has been teaching band in Loudoun County since 2002.  Prior to teaching at Willard, he was band director at Sterling and Mercer Middle Schools.

​

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's in Music Performance from

James Madison University. Mr. Miles is a member of NAfME, VMEA and works on the Registration team for the Virginia Music Educator’s Conference.


He lives with his wife and three children in western Loudoun. When he isn't teaching at Willard, he assists with the Lightridge Marching Bolts, directs at the Champe Band Camp, and is an announcer for various marching band contests, including the JMU Parade of Champions.
